Rockville Centre Youth Lacrosse (NY) presents 27K Shot Challenge Support of @HEADstrongFnd

On Saturday March 10, the Rockville Centre Lacrosse Club (NY) will present the 27K Shot Challenge in support of the HEADstrong Foundation. Lacrosse players from Rockville Centre and the surrounding area will participate in a 12-hour continuous shooting barrage at John A. Darcy Field located at the RVC Sports Complex, Peninsula Boulevard, Rockville Centre, NY 11570. The 27 Shot Challenge will begin at 8:00AM and will run through 8:00PM EST.

Players can begin joining their respected teams and setting up their individual fundraising pages at
https://pledge.headstrong.org/RVC27KShotChallenge. Participants will raise funds leading up to the event and will empower their family, friends and fans to make pledges based on shots taken day of. Supporters are encouraged to make a minimum donation of $27.00 which will cover a bucket of balls or 27 shots.

Participants will get a bucket of 27 balls per round in honor of former Hofstra lacrosse player and HEADstrong founder, Nicholas Colleluori. The goal is to reach 27,000 shots by the completion of the 12-hour challenge and raise $27,000 which will enable the Rockville Centre Lacrosse Club to sponsor a room at Nick’s House.

Nick’s House is a guest family home operated by the HEADstrong Foundation which provides complimentary lodging and support to families displaced while seeking comprehensive cancer treatment and clinical trials. Nick’s House provides more than 2,555 annual nights of lodging and more than $1.25 million in relief.

“On behalf of the HEADstrong Foundation and those we humbly serve we wish to extend our sincere appreciation to our Rockville Centre Lacrosse Club family for taking on this incredible challenge. We are truly humbled by RVC’s commitment to sponsoring a room at Nick’s House and for their continued involvement with our organization.
