From Press Release

Sweetlax Lacrosse is proud to announce the 5th Annual Sweetlax Summer Showcase featuring elite boys lacrosse players from across the country who will have the opportunity to work with and show off their skills with top Head and Assistant College Coaches from DI, DII, and DIII schools.

“The direct attention players receive from top college coaches in a smaller setting is of great value,” said Sweetlax Founder and Director of Recruiting Kevin Martin. “We are lucky enough to host coaches from various schools from Princeton, Villanova and RIT, to Le Moyne and Notre Dame amongst others. Each year we look forward to seeing returning coaches in addition to new faces.”

The Showcase event is designed to prepare athletes that are interested in playing at the Collegiate level. Players will come to Pittsford, NY on June 22nd for a day of scrimmages and positional/shooting clinics along with College Coaches Q and A sessions.

Each team has 3 College Coaches to direct and instruct players on their gameplay, with 2 NCAA qualified officials per game. The positional clinics will be led by College Coaches in addition to a shooting clinic with Professional Player Randy Staats. Players are exposed to elite training opportunities while showcasing themselves in front of the top college coaches.

Parents have the opportunity to attend different college sessions throughout the day featuring top Head and Assistant Coaches in addition to hearing Salisbury School’s Assistant Headmaster and Head of College Advisement Bobby Wynne. Coach Wynne touches upon NCAA requirements, SAT/ACT prep, the recruiting process and determining the right fit college for their son.

College coaches will also discuss with parents what a day in the life is like for a DI, DII or DIII athlete and as a coach what they look for in players. Last year’s event featured University of Maryland’s assistant coach JL Reppert, Notre Dame’s Assistant Coach Matt Karweck and Binghamton University’s Head Coach Kevin McKeown.

“We like to take advantage of having a variety of college coaches to provide parents insight they would not be able to receive at a college visit,” said ML8 Event Coordinator, Jessica Pacitto. “We like to make sure parents are receiving value by attending the Showcase in addition to their players.”

Last year, parents had the opportunity to ask questions directly to the Coaches leaving them well informed on what to expect for their sons recruiting future.

The event is open to the public to come and check out the elite players in addition to the various vendors located in the Vendor Village onsite. For more information on the Sweetlax Showcase please visit the event webpage; https://www.ml8events.com/sweetlax-showcase.
