The TopLaxRecruits Mid-Atlantic Boys’ Rankings
1. McDonogh (MD) 5-0
The Eagles defeated Culver Academy in a 9-8 overtime thriller on Tuesday behind Yale commit Jackson Morrill’s two goals and three assists, including the game-winner. They’ll look to stay undefeated as they travel to take on Bullis today, followed by a game against California’s Saint Ignatius Prep next Tuesday.
2. Victor (NY) 1-0
The Blue Devils started their season with a 16-6 win over Corning on Tuesday. Their next opponent is Webster Thomas on April 7.
3. Hun School (NJ) 1-0
The Raiders opened their 2016 season with a 14-8 win against Georgetown Prep on Tuesday. They take on Blair Academy April 2.
4. Calvert Hall (MD) 5-1
The Cardinals fell to overall #1 Hill Academy 11-7 last Thursday, but defeated Malvern Prep on Tuesday 7-6 in overtime, as Ohio State commit JT Bugliosi scored the game-winner with 55 seconds left. They’ll take on Half Hollow Hills West on Tuesday.
5. Chaminade (N.Y.) 0-0
The Flyers look to defend their CHSAA championship. They get their season started Saturday against West Islip, followed by a Tuesday matchup at Iona Prep.
6. Malvern Prep (PA) 3-1
The Friars had an unbelievable comeback in the 4th quarter on Friday against Loyola-Blakefield, as they defeated the Dons 11-9. The Friars then fell to another MIAA opponent in Calvert Hall in overtime 7-6 on Tuesday. They have some time to rest up before hosting St. Augustine Prep on Wednesday.
7. Gonzaga (DC) 5-1
The Purple Eagles took care of Dallas Jesuit, Saint Ignatius Prep, and Bishop Ireton in action this week. They take on a tough Culver Academy team today, followed by a matchup with Boys’ Latin on Tuesday.
8. Smithtown East (NY) 0-0
The Bulls reached the Long Island Class A championship last year and have the talent to go further. Their season begins Saturday as they travel to take on Massapequa, followed by weekday games against Half Hollow Hills East and Walt Whitman.
9. Cold Spring Harbor (NY) 1-0
The Seahawks defeated South Side in their season opener on Tuesday. They take on Ridley today, followed by another PA team in Downingtown West, followed by a big game against Syosset on Tuesday.
10. Syosset (NY) 1-0
The Braves opened up their season with a 6-3 win over Garden City on Tuesday. They play South Side today, followed by a road game against Cold Spring Harbor.
