Everest Academy has won the past two High School AA championships at the Philadelphia Indoor Lacrosse Championships, run by NXT. Can Clem D’Orazio’s team make it a three-peat?
The defending champions headline a 10-team AA group at Saturday’s PILC at the Feasterville SportsPlex that features NXT 2016, NXT 2017, American Revolution, Leading Edge South, MadLax, Boro Pride, Hermits, Jags Lax and Team 91. The 12-team A bracket, which NXT 2017 Orange claimed last year, features NXT 2018, NXT Bandits, Building Blocks Lacrosse 9/10th, Hermits, Jags Lax, Jr. Wings, MadLax, Performance Lacrosse, American Revolution, Leading Edge South, Patriot and Team 91.
“We’re really excited to be back at the PILC,” said Everest Academy coach Clem D’Orazio. “Each year the competition gets better as more and more American players are getting exposed to the box game.
“It should be another great day of lacrosse and NXT always puts on a quality event!”
“The PILC is the best way for teams to cap off their box lacrosse seasons before they focus on their spring outdoor seasons,” Vice President, Events Robin Baxter said. “It’s always an incredibly competitive event that features some of the best teams in the country and Ontario. We’re excited to see if anyone can dethrone Everest in AA and to see which team will step up as the new A champion.”
