Why did you choose West Point? “My choice of West Point was based on my most recent visit. Coaches (Joe) Alberici, (Kyle) Georgalis and (Justin) Turri put together a full day and a half tour, which really enabled me and my parents to see how much it had to offer. The emphasis on leadership and athletics as well as academics, was a perfect fit for me.”

Outlook for 2015 HS season? “This season my team and I plan on being the best team there is on the field. The boys and I have been getting psyched for the season since summer workouts and cannot wait to get this year rolling!”

Other schools considered: The Air Force Academy, Naval Academy, Boston University, Rutgers, UMass, Fairfield

Thank You: “First and foremost I would like to thank my family. My 2 older sisters and my parents have always been my biggest cheerleaders.

“I would also like to thank my youth coaches; my father, Pete Plate, Pat Hull and Joe Murphy. They taught me the basics and showed me that I could play at the next level.

“I would also give a shout out to one of my first travel team coaches, Jim Korwin, for keeping me in the game when I wasn’t sure I really wanted to be there and for giving me the confidence that I needed.

“I would also love to thank my Team 91 family, Jimmy Mule, Dave Kohler, Dave DiMaria and all of the other staff for everything they have done to improve my game.

“Finally, I’m very thankful to my High School coaches JM Simson, Bascelli and Marcelo Sandoval for having the confidence in me to bring me up to the Varsity level and push me to be the best player I could be. How much they have all supported me is something I will never be ale to repay.”
