US Lacrosse, the national governing body of men’s and women’s lacrosse, announced today that the organization has awarded 24 new grants to support lacrosse participation opportunities for underrepresented youth. These awards, made through the Diversity & Inclusion Grant Program, will be utilized by local organizations that support the growth of the sport at the grassroots level.
US Lacrosse seeks to recognize and empower organizations that are dedicated to growing the game and making lacrosse as inclusive as possible. As part of the organization’s ongoing commitment to providing participation opportunities to all, US Lacrosse is supporting organizations that provide underrepresented youth with lacrosse education and instruction.
“Broad representation and participation add significant value to the lacrosse experience, and we believe that through these grant awards, we can further the impact on ensuring greater diversity for the sport across the country,” said Eboni Preston-Laurent, senior manager for diversity and inclusion at US Lacrosse.
The D&I grants, which range from $1,500 to $5,000, were awarded in five separate categories: community impact, disability access, girls’ initiatives, urban outreach and event support. The 24 organizations receiving grants represent 15 different states and the District of Columbia.
