Twelve teams from Upstate New York, Canada and the Six Nations will compete Saturday in the 2nd Annual Buffalo Viking Lacrosse Tournament at Nichols School.

The NY teams include West Seneca East, Bishop Timon, St. Joe’s, Hamburg, Niagara Wheatfield, Western Door, Eden, Amherst, East Aurora and the Buffalo Vikings. They are joined by Six Nations and Hardcor Lacrosse, a new club program from Ontario that has some top talent unknown in the US.
Hardcor is an organization owned by Troy Cordingley, head coach of the Buffalo Bandits. The organization has been running since 2009, offering clinics, camps and field and box leagues. Last year it began sponsoring travel teams and has players from Huntsville, Georgetown and Acton, Ontario.
The majority of its players attend Christ the King CSS in Georgetown, Ontario, many of which play Junior C and/or Junior B box lacrosse.
Some of the more notable players on Hardcor are Bret Swan, a drawman and midfielder; 2015 two-way MF/FO Teagan Meredith of Huntsville; defensive middie Braidyn Vidler; and attackman Cody Menzies, a dangerous offensive threat.
