BAY SHORE,N.Y. – Emily Piciullo tallied four goals and one assist as West Islip remained unbeaten with a 14-7 victory today over host Bay Shore.
West Islip, No. 6 in the Brine/TopLaxRecruits Rankings, improved to 12-0. Bay Shore fell to 5-5.

“We came ready to play because Bay Shore is our biggest rival,” said Piciullo. “We were pumped all day for this game.
“I wore my face paint all day. On the way here we were singing and screaming at each other, getting pumped for the game. Hopefully, we are going to make it to counties and past that. We are trying to go as far as we can this year because I think this is our year.”
West Islip broke open a 1-1 game with eight unanswered goals before the half. The Lions stretched the lead to 14-4 as they broke a four-game losing streak to the Marauders.
Lena Riportella tallied four goals, Vanessa Constantino tallied one goal and four assists and Emily Beier tallied one goal and three assists for West Islip.
“We came out hard today,” said West Islip head coach Joe Nicolosi. “We shot the ball well. In the middle of the field we found the open girls and we made that extra pass and got a couple of layups right at the front door.
“We haven’t beaten Bay Shore in I think the last two years and they are a solid group. It’s just a great overall win for us and it boosts our confidence.”
Katie Kirk tallied three goals and both Carly Cox and Dale Cosgrave tallied one goal and two assists for Bay Shore.
“West Islip came to play and they hustled,” said Bay Shore head coach Allison Pfeffer.
