Connor Vercruysse scored four goals and Austin Graham posted 10 saves while Luke Palmadesso won all 11 of his face-offs and added a goal and an assist Saturday as Yorktown (N.Y.) stunned host Chaminade (N.Y.), 5-3.
The Huskers improved to 9-2, while Chaminade – No. 6 in the Warrior/TopLaxRecruits Rankings – fell to 8-1.
Vercruysse put his team ahead, 4-3, with under nine minutes to play and later added an insurance goal.
Yorktown also dealt Chaminade a 12-8 defeat last year for its first loss of the season.
Brother Rice (MI) 12, Bishop Timon (NY) 7
Senior Goalie Chris Lievois posted 13 saves to spark the Warriors (7-3) past Bishop Timon. Brother Rice also fell to No.4 Hill Academy (Ontario), 14-10, on Friday.
Seniors Reid Fisher (nine goals) and Jason Alessi (six goals) led the Brother offense inthe two games. Seniors Joe Plaskey and Pat Cosgrove anchored the defense, with Plaskey adding a goal against Bishop Timon.
Archbishop Moeller (OH) 9, Detroit Country Day School (MI) 8
Collin Rice (2G, 3A), Zach Werner (2G, 2A) led the Moeller (5-5) attack as DCDS fell to 9-3 and lost two one-goal games in Ohio. The day before DCDS fell to Cincinnati St Xavier (8-2).
Episcopal School of Dallas (TX) 17, Austin (TX) 3
Jack Beare poured in six goals and Richie Loftus had three goals and two assists to lead the Eagles (15-2) in the state playoffs.
Kittatinny Regional (NJ) 9, Newton (NJ) 7
Senior midfielder Greg Piel was named the MVP (3G, 1A & 10/16 FO’s) in victory over crosstown rival Newton, giving the Cougars (8-2) a share of the NJAC-Independent Division.
Dover-Sherborn (MA) 8, Wellesley (MA) 7
Grant Gregory scored five goals to lead the Raiders (7-2) to the Coaches Challenge Cup championship at North Andover.
Wellesley (7-3) got two goals apiece from John Caraviello and Matt Dziama, but could not hold a 7-6 lead.
Loveland (OH) 9, Lexington Catholic (OH) 3
Brad Clements (Coker College) had four goals while DEF Zach Burpee added five groundballs for the Tigers(8-2).
Salesianum School (DE) 15, Caesar Rodney (DE) 5
Jason Kelly and Sam Fink each had four goals to lead the Sals (8-1) to their eighth straight win. Goalie Ryan Kern added a goal as Salesianum won its 41st straight in-state game.
