Eastport-South Manor (N.Y.) freshman midfielder Kelsey Huff has made a verbal commitment to play Division I lacrosse at the University Of Southern California.

What will you major in/study? Sports Medicine
Why did you choose the school? “USC’s strong academics and tradition as well as a top athletic school appealed to me right away. When I met Coach Lindsey Munday, Coach Devon Wills and Coach Hillary Bowen and went to one of their camps I knew I could see myself playing for them. I’m also lucky to be playing with my sister Kaeli who will be at USC also. The weather and surfing in California definitely helped make my decision easier too!”
HS team’s outlook for next season? “Last year we made it to the Long Island Championship for the second in a row. This year we’re looking to go even further.”
Thank You: I would like to thank my father, Scott Huff, who has been my coach for my whole lacrosse career. He taught me everything I know and he’s my biggest supporter. Coach Becky Thorn, my high school coach, who pushes me to be the best player I can be and also helped me make this decision with choosing USC. I want to thank my Yellow Jacket teammates who help me to be a better player and we have all become so close over all these years and can’t imagine playing with anybody else. And to Carol Rose and the entire Yellow Jackets program for giving me such great opportunities to play a sport that I love
