From Press Release
The Sweetlax Lacrosse Annual Summer Showcase for uncommitted 2018, 2019, 2020 and 2021 boys’ players will be held June 23rd at Calkins Road Middle School in Pittsford, NY.
The Sweetlax Showcase includes scrimmages and positional clinics along with College Coaches Q and A sessions designed to further assist players who are interested in playing at the next level. Last year’s event featured players from California, Texas, Georgia, Florida, Maryland, New Hampshire, Massachusetts, New Jersey, Michigan, New York and Canada compete at the event.
“We have a full day scheduled,” said Sweetlax Founder and Director of Recruiting Kevin Martin. “It is a unique format that allows each player on a team to be coached by College Coaches from DI, DII and DIII schools while also receiving information on the recruiting process between games.”
All interested players can submit their application on the event webpage (highlight tapes are required for the application to be submitted to the Showcase Player Evaluator).

Last year’s event drew over 80 college coaches.
“A number of Rochester Collegiate players will also be present to work with the players between games on position training and answer any parent’s questions regarding their recruiting experience,” added Martin. “We’ve always been proud how many of our local players look forward to giving back at an event that was so helpful to them.”
The Sweetlax Showcase will be hosting the event for the fourth year at Calkins Road Middle School where all four fields are busy throughout the day with over 300 players participating. The event kicks off the Sweetlax Summer Invitational weekend that will host over 120 coaches from the top colleges and universities in the Country.
“The three days is such a great way to showcase not only the lacrosse talent that the coaches come for, but also all that the Rochester and Finger Lakes region has to offer,” added Chelsea Henderson whose company ML8 Events manages the event. “We have many people attend from areas as far as California or Florida – families turn this tournament into a family vacation.”
The event continues to attract the top lacrosse programs to the Rochester area from Syracuse, Maryland, Cornell, Johns Hopkins, Cornell, Yale, Harvard, LeMoyne, RIT and Notre Dame amongst many others;
“It is a great opportunity for our community to draw people to the region,” Henderson said.
The event is open to the general public to come and enjoy a great weekend of lacrosse with food vendors on site from Chef’s Catering, Effortlessly Healthy, Flash Freeze Artisan Ice Cream and Lapresi’s Lemonade alongside a number of local and national sports vendors.
