The TopLaxRecruits Mid-Atlantic Boys’ Rankings
1. McDonogh (MD) 4-0
The Eagles are the new #1 in the Mid-Atlantic, after starting the season 4-0. They opened the season with a 9-7 road win against Gonzaga, followed by wins against Collegiate School, and a trip to Florida to beat Lake Highland Prep and Saint Andrew’s. They’ll have a few days off, before resuming play against Culver on Tuesday and Bullis next Thursday.
2. Loyola-Blakefield (MD) 1-0
The Dons shocked the high school lacrosse landscape on Tuesday, as they upset previous Mid-Atlantic #1 Haverford School 16-14. They have another Inter-Ac opponent on Friday, as they take on Malvern Prep at Homewood Field, before playing Landon on the road on Tuesday.
3. Victor (NY) 0-0
The Blue Devils had a perfect season in 2015, winning the state class B title with a junior-laden team. They may be even better this year. They start their season Tuesday against Corning.
4. Calvert Hall (MD) 4-0
The Cardinals defeated Lake Norman, Ravenscroft School, and St. John’s (Texas) on their North Carolina trip. A big test looms against top-ranked Hill Academy today, followed by a road game against Malvern Prep on Tuesday.
5. Haverford School (PA) 1-1
The Fords got off to a good start Saturday as they defeated St. Paul’s 12-8. But they fell to Loyola-Blakefield on Tuesday, 16-14. Up next is a stretch of three games in four days at home as they take on Culver, California’s Cathedral Catholic, and St. Stephen/St. Agnes beginning Sunday.
6. Hun School (NJ) 0-0
The Raiders lost only to No. 1 Haverford School last year. They start their season Tuesday against Georgetown Prep.
7. Chaminade (N.Y.) 0-0
The Flyers look to defend their CHSAA championship. They get their season started March 26 against West Islip.
8. Malvern Prep (PA) 2-0
The Friars defeated St. Anne’s-Belfield and Cardinal Gibbons last week to go 2-0 to start the year. They play MIAA foes Loyola-Blakefield at Homewood Field on Friday night, and host Calvert Hall on Tuesday.
9. Gonzaga (DC) 2-1
The Purple Eagles lost to McDonogh 9-7 last Thursday, but rebounded with a 13-4 win over St. Alban’s. They’ll play Dallas Jesuit, Saint Ignatius Prep, and Bishop Ireton this week.
10. Smithtown East (NY) 0-0
The Bulls reached the Long Island Class A championship last year. Their season begins March 26 as they travel to take on Massapequa.
